Architects for schools and preschools across India
Children learn from everything around them: the rooms they move through, the things they touch, what they see others do. We design preschools, playschools, schools and educational buildings with research on how children perceive space and learn from it.
We take on educational buildings all over India, in cities, on their outskirts and in rural and remote places, where we stay on site and execute the work ourselves.
What we pay attention to
Room to join in and room to watch
Young children learn both by joining in and by quietly watching others. We plan spaces for active play and corners from which a child can observe.
Things to touch
Materials and textures within a child's reach, safe and varied, so the senses are part of learning.
Daylight and fresh air
Classrooms planned for daylight and for air that moves without machines.
Calm for sensitive children
Quiet corners, softer light and clear routes for autistic and sensory-sensitive children.
Built to last on a small budget
Durable, local and sustainable materials, such as treated bamboo, that schools can afford to build and maintain.
The research behind this work: how children perceive space, materials and the senses and inclusive and sensory-sensitive design.
How we work
We design and deliver projects of every size ourselves, with full service across India: design, drawings, approvals and site supervision. If you already have architects and a team in place, we can instead join them as consultants and bring our research into the design. See how a project runs, from brief to site.
Your budget
Tell us your budget at the start. We prefer that you set it, so we can give you the best design that budget can buy and spend it where you will feel it most. A budget is never a constraint for us: we start from the people who will use the space, not from the cost, and we have no minimum project size or fee. A single room gets the same care as a whole building.

Questions
Do you design preschools and playschools as well as schools?

Yes. We redesign existing classrooms, play areas and buildings as well as designing new ones.
Do you design for children with special needs?
Yes. We design inclusive, sensory-sensitive spaces for autistic and neurodivergent children.
Is there a minimum budget or project size?
No. We have no minimum project size or fee, and we take on work of every size, from a single room to a whole building.
What if my budget is small?
Tell us what it is. We prefer clients to set the budget, so we can give them the best design within it, and we show you where the money will make the most difference to how the space feels and works.
How much do you charge?
It depends on the project and the scope of work. Write to us with a few lines about your project and your budget, and we will reply with a proposal.
