Association of Phantasmagorical Spaces and Human Emotions

Magical Realms, Science Fantasies and Psychedelic Visuals evoke combinations of emotions in different individuals. The perceptual, cognitive and emotional patterns in these experiences could help us understand the human mind and its enchantment with the not real. The architectural spaces depicted in such visuals and a few of the architectural spaces that come close to recreating such experiences induce complex emotional and behavioral responses. A study of the influence of these spaces on the mind might advance the understanding of the human mind.

Focus

A study of the science of visual deception.
The direction of the mind to assume what the artist wants the viewer/ experiencer to see.
Spaces that seem unreal and yet are physically existent.

Aims

To analyse the stimulus created in the neural systems of the brain.
To comprehend the emotions triggered by non-real architectural spaces.
To draw the connections between visuals and experiences.
To attempt at understanding the role A.R. can play in intervening in the experience of spaces.
To deduce the pros and cons of phantasmagorical spaces.
